This past saturday, The Roosevelt engineering Technology Program had its third annual cardboard kayak race at Green Lake. This was a competition between Mr.Ruffs five class periods. The boats were constructed with only duct tape and cardboard, making it difficult to produce a reliable boat. Each period was awarded points based on structural design, aesthetics, quality, and extra points for the time it took to complete an out and back in the lake. In the end period five came out on top with 50 points while period six came in a close second with 33 points. The day was full of thrills and spills as the periods battled it out for victory. Take a look at the day’s highlights.
