A Review on Tulio’s

Prom—the night every senior has been waiting for. It’s a night where taking things a step up is expected: nicer clothes, beautiful photos, and a good dinner. For my group of 12, we decided upon Tulio’s, an Italian restaurant a couple streets away from Columbia Tower.

When you first walk in the restaurant, you’re quickly greeted, and it’s easy to get the feeling that even if you’re in a large group, you’ll be given the same quality of service. A reservation is recommended, especially for a large group on a busy night, but the waitstaff was very accommodating of having multiple large groups of teenagers in the restaurant at the same time. From the start, our server was very attentive and was able to answer questions about drinks (non-alcoholic, of course) and food items. Throughout the dinner, our server constantly came back to check on us and ask us how the meal was going. It’s clear that service here is taken very seriously, and it shows in the stellar treatment of customers.

The food took my expectations to a different level. I ordered the Agnolotti with mushrooms and chive crema, and it was amazing. My biggest issue was my inability to finish it! One of my friends had a family member who knew the chef, which came in handy through amazing appetizers and a dessert for free. These appetizers were the perfect size: a slice or two of a pear, a small piece of cheese, just enough to give us a taste of what our main meals could taste like. The dessert, a small chocolate mousse with a cherry inside, was the perfect way to finish the dinner. The chef himself came up and told us a little about our food, which was a nice way to learn more about the process behind the making of the dinners. Overall, the food was stellar–just be prepared for the richness of many plates.

Tulio’s is a great choice for an upscale dinner before any fancy event. Although it is on the pricier side, the cost is well worth the amazing service and delicious food.
