Tobey Maguire Fan

Forget it if you think Andrew Garfield is hot or you love Tom Holland’s British accent — we are talking about Spider-Man here, and Tobey Maguire is all that. Not only is Maguire the first Spider-Man in cinematic history, he is the best Peter Parker AND the web-head himself, perfectly presented through his comic-accurate awkwardness and personality.

Maguire exemplifies science whiz Peter Parker’s intellect through his ability to work side by side with Norman Osborn and Dr. Otto Octavius. And for Spider-Man, the perfect strain is put onto Parker in order to balance being a student, vigilante of New York, and lover to his dream girl, MJ.

Maguire’s trilogy (which one of the other Spider-Men didn’t get, *cough* ANDREW *cough*) irrefutably has the best representation of villains as well. Green Goblin and Venom?! Absolute thriller! Who wouldn’t want to watch a grown man decked in spandex fight a glorified Power Ranger and possessed sewer alien?!

Everyone knows Spider-Man for his ability to swing around the concrete jungle, yet many take for granted that he is able to do it without aid. Maguire’s ability to organically shoot webs from his wrists is something that cannot be said for the fellow competitors who rely on the equivalent of silk silly string cans tied to their wrists to utilize their abilities. Maguire has natural talent.

And speaking of talent, Maguire got ripped to portray Spider-Man, setting the precedent for fellow superhero actors that would follow suit. Beyond muscle, his extensive training included martial arts, gymnastics, and dance. How else was he able to persuade his love interest? (At least she still remembers him.) Through his slick dance moves, hip swings, and charm of course.

And do not even get me started on how absolutely stunning his suit is. You are telling me he made a full custom Spider-Suit in just a few hours with latex lining and all, then went out to kick butt right after? All I can say is get yourself a man who can do both.

Andrew Garfield Fan

Whether you’re discussing the hottest actor with perfect hair, or the most realistic Spider-Man, you’ve found your new favorite British webhead, Andrew Garfield. The comedic, charismatic, and confident chick magnet first took on the role of the kid from Queens in 2012, and recently swung back into the memories of superhero fans everywhere in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Why not address the elephant in the room and talk about how Tom Holland nearly decimated the entire multiverse because he didn’t get into college. One thing doesn’t go right for Mr. Perfect and suddenly he breaks the laws of magic. Now everyone feels sorry for him after MJ and Ned don’t remember him? Oh no! Let me play my tiny little violin, Holland is finally suffering the consequences of his actions. And to add insult to injury, I haven’t ever seen him do a kickflip.

But do you know who can? That’s right, Garfield. Skating into our hearts on and off the screen, Garfield has attracted it all — from Emma Stone playing Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man” to Ryan Reynolds playing the role of lover at the Golden Globes.

“That was fun,” Garfield said after passionately smooching Reynolds at the award show in 2017. “It was nice to do it. I liked it … Yes, he did get lost in my eyes. I felt it.”

Time to talk about the uncoordinated youth pastor, Tobey Maguire; the first cinematic Spider-Man and easily the worst. And where do his ‘organic’ webs come from exactly?

While Maguire relies on gross strings magically coming out of a hole in his wrist that just stops working when he’s sad, Garfield scientifically creates his webs with classroom materials. We haven’t seen this level of wizardly intellectual abilities from the other web slingers.

And the villains? While Maguire faces off against a glorified sand castle and Holland’s biggest enemy is a man with a fish bowl for a head, Garfield battles a man who can control all electricity in New York City. That’s right, Garfield fought Electro in an instant classic. Did I mention that he was able to dodge lightning bolts? That man swiftly avoids everything at the speed of light!

And if nothing else convinced you, that hair will. I mean, seriously, do you see how perfect it is!? His flowy chestnut brown locks with golden streaks, perfectly lined up, is enough to have Garfield run away with this competition.

Tom Holland Fan

The release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” has many pondering just who the greatest Spider-Man of all time could be. The answer has never been clearer: look no further than the lovable Tom Holland.

No one can deny the extraordinary suaveness of Andrew Garfield in his role, or the legendary dance moves of Tobey Maquire. But at the end of the day, Tom Holland is the embodiment of not just Spider-Man but Peter Parker himself. Don’t just take my word for it. Stan Lee, the creator of the character said, “It’s as if we created a living being to be Spider-Man, and it turned out to be Tom.”

Holland has brought a new energy to one of the most famous superheroes of all time and has given the character a more important role in the world of fantasy. Holland’s Spider-Man exists in the Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) — the greatest superhero universe ever (unless you like DC and their movies like “Justice League” which bombed at the box office and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 40%). His character provides far more depth and excitement through his connections to Iron Man, Dr. Strange, and the extended Avengers team.

Did Garfield or Maguire ever get snapped out of literal existence? Did either of them come back to life and defeat one of the most powerful supervillains of all time? I didn’t think so. Oh, not to mention the fact that Holland’s Spider-Man has already been in six movies to date compared to Maguire’s four and Garfield’s measly three. And the fans only want more: “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is the 8th highest grossing movie worldwide, raking in a whopping 1.5 billion dollars.

Forget the money, isn’t Spider-Man supposed to be a high schooler? You’re telling me Garfield and Maquire are a more accurate casting when they are full grown men, playing the role of a teenager (*Cough Cough* Garfield was 29 and Maquire was 26). No way, not compared to Holland, who was actually a teenager when he was cast (19 years old). In this way he’s able to balance the role of the awkward Peter Parker, and Spider-Man far better than his counterparts.

The truth is Maguire and Garfield laid a great foundation for Holland to build off of. So while Maguire couldn’t quite pull off the epicness of Spider-Man and Garfield is an abominable Peter Parker, Holland is the best of both worlds.

But the real kicker is that Holland and his role as Spider-Man are still growing, as fans are anticipating yet another trilogy for his character. Fans should expect plenty of character development and depth to his persona.

At the end of the day he’s the only Spider-Man to still be in the movies, and you know what they say, out with the old and in with the new. It’s time we accept Tom Holland as the amazing Spider-Man he truly is. And come on, how can you not fall in love with that adorable British accent?
